About Women's KISS '05

Women's KISS (Kickass Independent Songwriter Showcase) is a celebration of contemporary, independent, female singer/songwriters.

The show offers a multi-artist entertainment experience to Women’s Week in Provincetown, MA. 2005 is our first presentation of the showcase. (more below)

KISS description continued:

During Women's Week, shows will be held at the Provincetown Inn as part of the Fringe Festival and there will be an all-inclusive dinner and a show at Lorraine's Restaurant called "Dinner and a KISS."

KISS was conceived by Susan Souza, a singer/songwriter, and her partner, Kristin Strohecker, at the onset of 2005. Their love for Provincetown, women, and music sparked the idea, which was then fueled by the talent and enthusiasm of the scores of women who submitted for consideration.

Five singer/songwriters were carefully selected for the showcase. Most are members of Indiegrrl, a forum for independent women in the music industry (www.indiegrrl.com), and each infuses a unique musical and songwriting style to the event.

Ultimately, the show is about celebrating and supporting the diversity of women in music.
