"Her songwriting seems to focus on pensive, thoughtful, internal landscapes" (Baltimore Gay Life Newspaper).
Originally from Massachusetts, Susan began performing as a teenager in Key West, Florida. Since then, she has entertained audiences up and down the East Coast from New England to Florida, in the Midwest and Northwest. Through the years, her career has taken many forms: as a solo artist, in acoustic duos, and as the lead singer of a band.
After taking a break from performing and recording in the late 90s and early 2000s, Susan realized that the inner peace that creating and performing music offered was worth giving up conventional securities.
Susan resumed her music career in mid 2004 with her six-song EP release , “Can Be Found.” At the onset of 2005, Susan began performing solo again, appearing at festivals, original-music venues, and songwriter showcases. Susan also has a repertoire of over 250 cover songs spanning a variety of genres, which she plays monthly for fun and practice at pubs and bars.
In the Fall of 2005, Susan released her CD, “Inside and Outside,” for which she was a 2006 OUTMusic Award nominee for Outstanding Debut Recording. Both CDs are also for purchase through the Store page, CD Baby, and at live performances.
Susan has been recognized for her songwriting skills as a Suggested Artist in the 2007 Song of the Year content, Honorable Mention in the 14th Billboard World Song contest, and runner-up in the "Song of the Year" contest. She has also received votes from the public to keep her CD, "Inside and Outside," on internet RainbowRadio's GLBT top 40 for 14 consecutive months. She has placed in the top 10, June, July, August, September, and October of 2006.
In addition to performing and recording, Susan is the co-founder of Women's KISS (Kickass Independent Songwriter Showcase), which is presented annually in Provincetown, Massachusetts during Women’s Week in addition to other showcases around the country. The events feature a variety of female independent singer/songwriters, that are of the highest quality out of those whom submitted.
Susan is seeking a publishing contract and is working continuously to support herself solely through a career in music. Her goal is to be comfortably wealthy while generating income through doing what she loves.
