The last time I wrote in this blog was in September and is was not because I haven't had anything to say, but more because there is too much to say. When Women's KISS was created it was out of a need for me to personally have an opportunity to play in a town that I loved, Provincetown, MA. There really wasn't a place for someone like me, an independent, not well known, or at all female musician, so I (along with my partner Kristin)created a platform. Now we thought there's a place.
Women's KISS (WK)has turned out to be a very important part of my life. It has quickly opened my eyes to the lack of well organized platforms for female musicians, who have been working at it for years, to play. I have grown with WK and quickly understood that it was never just about me, but about us all.
The great news is that we are planning to do 3-4 events per year ranging from Showcases to Charitable functions. Also, by the end of 2006 Women's KISS would have filed for its nonprofit status. I have no doubts that we will get approved!! This opens up the doors to the future even wider.
Besides Women's KISS I also continue to play solo, and am trying to get some recognition for my songwriting. It is coming in small currents, however I couldn't possible ask for any more than the universe has given me at this point. I believe that what I put out-I get back. My energy us clearly with WK right now,....and that's ok.
I will be touring in 2007. Watch out for dates.....beginning in March in MA, RI, OH, MI,IL,PA and maybe others. Life is good!! Thanks for reading!!
